Wearing face masks are becoming the new normal during the coronavirus pandemic. Turns out some celebrities actually might like wearing them! If they wear sunglasses and a face mask they are basically unrecognizable to their fans. Comedian Steve Martin made a joke and offered up a hilarious solution to this problem.
For those celebrities who actually want to be recognized, Steve offered a solution. He wrote on Twitter, “I always wear a mask when I go outside. But something about it was leaving me anxious and unsettled. I thought about the problem, addressed it, and here is the solution.”

Steve then shared a photo of himself in a mask and sunglasses, with a sign that said “Steve Martin” and pointed down at his head! When he’s not making his followers laugh, he has been busy performing the banjo during the quarantine.
He’s shared some video clips of his banjo playing and it is quite impressive! Steve also picks a winner for his Steve Martin Banjo Prize every year. He chooses winners who have excellent Banjo skills and he will be holding the contest this fall.
According to the website, “The Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass provides the winner with an unrestricted cash prize of fifty-thousand dollars, as well as a bronze sculpture created specifically for the prize by noted artist Eric Fischl. Created to bring recognition to an individual or group for outstanding accomplishment in the field of five-string banjo or bluegrass music, the prize highlights the extraordinary musicianship of these artists and bluegrass music worldwide.”
In addition, “The winner is determined by a board consisting of J.D Crowe, Pete Wernick, Tony Trischka, Anne Stringfield, Noam Pikelny, Alison Brown, Neil V. Rosenberg, Béla Fleck, and Steve Martin.”
