On July 12, at the age of 27, Benjamin Keough died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. On October 1, the official Graceland Facebook page announced Benjamin Keough’s was in his new resting place beside Elvis Presley.
The two lay in Graceland’s Meditation Garden. The pandemic affected visitations, but pictures from Riley Keough shared on the same day show the grave. The tribute and subsequent photos show a quiet, natural site and a grave bedecked in flowers.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced revealing what an autopsy found with Keough. The autopsy report points to “major depression” and revealed he had alcohol and cocaine in his system. These findings follow a long battle on multiple fronts: one with mental health challenges and another with substance abuse. Indeed, looking back on her own addiction to opioids, Lisa Marie considers herself “grateful to be alive today.” Remaining sober proved challenging. To accomplish this, Lisa Marie often thought about her children for strength.
These findings went public on October 12. By the end of July, his family said their final goodbyes, though his passing rattled everyone and sparked fears Lisa Marie Presley may relapse into abusing drugs. Her ex, Michael Lockwood, even pressed for full custody of their children, citing safety concerns. While Lisa Marie kept her addiction battles private, their divorce filings made it a public affair.

Riley Keough, sister of the late Benjamin, shared photos of his final resting place. She shared them to her Twitter account, which Priscilla Presley follows. Priscilla is the ex-wife of Elvis and the grandmother of Benjamin. His girlfriend, Diana Pinto, had been present when Benjamin shot himself in the early hours of the morning. She feared receiving hatred from family members such as Priscilla because she’d been present when he died.
At his grave, however, such tensions become mute. The pictures show Benjamin Keough’s final resting place in Graceland’s Meditation Garden, right beside the property’s pool. Fresh flowers cover the plot of land at the time of the photo. In the comments, fans paid their respects to Benjamin, praised the location, but also mourned the circumstances behind the photos.
