Marie Osmond is gearing up for a very special holiday performance. “A Marie Osmond Symphonic Christmas” will premiere on Dec. 20 for one night only featuring performances with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Marie will sing some classic holiday songs and songs from her Unexpected album at Heinz Hall.
Marie shared, “This is my sixth decade performing. I’ve had a crazy career, especially being a woman. I have worked every year of my life. I wasn’t going to do a Christmas tour this year. But then it dawned on me people need a little lift this year and a chance to get together and remember happy times.”

The show will likely feel very comforting to Marie who has sung in Christmas shows since she was 12 years old. She continued, “So, I’ll be using what I’ve learned in a six-decade career. And with the Pittsburgh Symphony? That talented of an orchestra? C’mon, wait until you see this show. The music will be a buffet. There’ll be a little jazz, a little opera, some classics. It’ll be very interesting.”
Her newest album includes a variety of songs including operas “Nessun Dorma,” “Lascia ChâIo Pianga,” and classic songs such as “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” Marie added that Unexpected was the perfect name for the album because of its success, which she didn’t think was possible at this stage of her career.
The show will also feature Marie’s nephew, professional singer David Osmond, as a guest vocalist. If you live in the area, get your tickets now before they sell out.
