Bruce Springsteen recently held the reopening of his Broadway show. During his performances, he joked about his recent DWI (driving while intoxicated). It was previously reported that he was arrested for drunken driving and reckless driving in 2020.
He said, “I was handcuffed and thrown in jail. That took some doin’ … I didn’t wake up one morning, get on my motorcycle and say, ‘I’ll go to jail!’” He had to pay a fine but ultimately the charges were dismissed.

He joked, “New Jersey. They love me there.” In addition to chatting with the audience, he also performed some songs for the fully-vaccinated audience at New York City’s St. James Theatre. He performed “I’ll See You in My Dreams,” one of his newer songs.
He also performed a few songs with his wife Patti Scialfa. Bruce sang “American Skin (41 Shots)” among other songs. All in all, he said he was very happy to be back performing on a stage!
